Certified Postnatal Fitness Specialist! 🍼

Certified postnatal fitness specialist

I am excited to say I am officially a certified postnatal fitness specialist! I have learnt so much over the last couple of months and now believe this is one of the most important qualifications to gain when working with women. Here are a few reasons this is so important: • If you have ever had a baby - you are postnatal forever! • Being postnatal may require some adjustments to your training and there are lots of exercises that can potentially do more harm than good - especially early postpartum, so, it's really important to seek guidance at this time • Giving birth is a trauma that requires rehab before safely getting back into more intense exercise, weights, running or sports - take time to rehab before you retrain! • Abdominal separation (diastasis recti) occurs in all pregnant women but is often not checked - I am trained to check for diastasis recti and prescribe exercises to help you heal and regain tension in your abdominals • The core and pelvic floor should work together to offer stability and control to your whole body - sometimes these need a little retraining for optimal function (pssst. incontinence, leaking, pain and discomfort are not simply things that all mums have to live with!) • Most personal training courses barely touch on this very important but incredibly common type of client! Everyone is so focussed on the baby, let's not forget that mum is healing and adapting too and taking some time to focus on yourself is the best thing you can do for you and your baby. I'm excited to help mums (new or not-so-new) feel fit, strong, confident and healthy for themselves and their babies 💪👶 Please get in touch to book a free consultation!
